BLOG Instructions (just to get you started)

FAMILY RECIPE

LEMON PIE
(Ruth Sanford)
>Mix together:
1/4 c. sugar
4 rounded Tbsp. flour
>Mix together:
1 3/4 c. water
Juice and grated rind of 2 lemons
>Gradually add dry ingredients to liquid in sauce pan; bring to boil and cook until thick, stirring constantly
>2 egg yolks, beaten (save whites for merengue); add small amount of pie filling to egg yolks and mix well, then add it all back into pie filling
>Cook slowly another 2 minutes, stirring
>Remove from heat and stir in 1 Tbsp. butter; cool; pour into cooled baked pie shell
>Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form, adding in 1/4 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar while whipping; add to top of pie
>Put in 400-425 oven a few minutes, until nicely browned

Ruth in Hillsboro June 1973

Hi to everyone!! So glad to see the Blog is still going, and hope everyone is doing GREAT !! I haven't joined Facebook yet.

This is a slide my dad took in 1973 of Ruth. I have one of Hazel (Ruth's sister) to be emailed if anyone is interested. I'm not able to crop it for the blog.

I'm still working on adding Joe and Liz's wedding pics. They are doing fine in AU and we Skype every week.

So, how many of you are Packer fans ?? GO PACK !!!

Our House Guest

I am "cat-sitting" Ashley's cat, Sammy, for a few days. This is where he likes to be, but Punkin's not so sure he wants Sammy there! They are slowly getting used to each other and Punkin is learning to share. What fun! ~ N ~
