Schnelby Hill Road, Sedona, AZ

Liz and I decided to take the Friday afternoon and drive up to Sedona. From Phoenix I could see a thunderstorm in Sedona which made it even better.

When we got up there, we ended up checking out our wedding spot and pretty much just staying there the whole time.

Here are some photos.

Adam turns 25 cruising the Mediterranean

The guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf (CG 72) celebrated the 15th anniversary of its commissioning Sept. 17, one day after Communications Officer ENS Adam Morris celebrated his 25th birthday, while deployed to the Navy's 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility as part of the Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) in support of maritime security operations.

The celebration included a ceremonial birthday cake during which the traditional first cut of the cake was made simultaneously by the ship's oldest and youngest Sailors -- Gas Turbine System Technician Electrician Chief Earle Allison and Cryptologic Technician Maintenance Seaman Victor Mason.

The Iwo Jima ESG is made up of Vella Gulf; the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7); the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50); the guided-missile destroyer USS Ramage (DDG 61); the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17); all homeported at Norfolk; the guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80), homeported at Mayport, Fla.; and the fast attack submarine USS Hartford (SSN 768), homeported at Groton, Conn.

G'ma Morris visits the Military Pro Shop

By special request, from G'ma Morris, her tour of the Pro Shop is "Blogged"........

This was her first visit to the Pro Shop's new location. The store was moved to this building at the first of the year. I gained a little more floor space and a more friendly layout inside.

Now located less than 1/2 mile from the main gate of Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. For those of you who just want to send money, the new address is: 720 Missouri Avenue
Saint Robert, Missouri 65584

Grand'ma Morris meets "Sarge"

G'ma Morris meets "The Sarge" briefly.....
on her visit to The Military Pro Shop near Fort Leonard Wood last Tuesday. Neither was impressed.

Faust pets

Peekaboo, Boxer, Toodles, Olie Bonzo Von Schnauzer. (We recently lost Toodles, but I felt like I should include her.) I feel like we live in a zoo, sometimes. And yet, the kids always want more (please please please, mom, can we have a ______(turtle, frog, gecko, you fill in the blank).

Franky

Here's our silly, sweet dog, Franky. He's still getting used to his baby sister, but he's hanging in there. He's really a member of the family and we adore his quiet, gentle personality. - Laura

Book

Bookends is recovering from neuter surgery from Tuesday. He's feeling a lot better today. I missed him last night and this morning while he was still in his groggy state. Aren't pets a lot of fun? He likes hamburger, pork chops, chicken, pizza, flour tortillas, Cheetos and cheese Doritos. I accidentally dropped a flour tortilla on the kitchen floor, and he started playing with it. It was so hilarious! I filmed it, but I guess it's too big to post. These are a few pics from the last few weeks. Anyone else wanna share your pets on the blog? :) ~Kim
