I was reviewing the CD of photos Nancy gave me and thought I'd post these Easter pictures I saw since Easter is coming up. Would anyone else like to post their Easter pictures? I remember last year Liz gave us all Easter baskets since we were still in town for their wedding. And that makes me ask, how come some years Easter falls in March and other years it's in April? ~Kim
Thought I'd let anyone know who is interested that Liz and I have a Skype account. Dad finally got his webcam working tonight and we talked to him for a little bit. He got to see Garrett. Cheap way to communicate (it's FREE!). We've also started to use it talking to Liz's family.
For those of you with spring fever, I thought I'd post a picture of Dad and Carolyn's beautiful landscaping from last year. I think it was past the peak for the rhododendrons (pink flowers), but they said it's gorgeous during peak time. ~Kim
Arnold and Frank Widmer in doorway (hard to see but interesting) Grist mill built in 1866 by Frank Lawton, saw mill built in 1867 by Van S Bennett and Diamond A Lawton--Mary
I don't have a date for the top picture. Frank and Mary are on the left in the bottom picture taken on Aug. 25, 1895, a Rockton group of people who went to Elroy to see Ringling's Circus.--Mary
To kick off spring break, we went camping with some friends on private property in East Texas. The kids had fun fishing, playing on the tire swing, and riding their bikes. Nathan was proud to be the first to catch a bass.
Below is a tintype (badly scratched) of Mary Belle Lawton at 9 mos. old (1875). An interesting part of this is the one holding her. It is probably her father, Diamond Lawton, shown in the next picture with wife, Margaret. Notice his right hand - it has the look of a hard worker. I wish more of him could be seen, but it's just too dark to fix.

Photo of sisters (not twins) Nellie and Mary Lawton.
Tintype of sisters Millie, Mary, and Nellie Lawton.
Tintype taken July 4, 1888 in Hillsboro WI. Seated: John Clark, Bert Eno. Standing: Mary Belle, Susan Clark (I have no idea who John, Bert, and Susan are... just friends, I suppose.
Remember the one that was posted of baby Frank Widmer in the off-the-shoulder dress, his hair slicked back on the top? Here is a redeeming photo of him at 2 yrs. 9 mos. (according to the info given).
