BLOG Instructions (just to get you started)

FAMILY RECIPE
LEMON PIE
(Ruth Sanford)
>Mix together:
1/4 c. sugar
4 rounded Tbsp. flour
>Mix together:
1 3/4 c. water
Juice and grated rind of 2 lemons
>Gradually add dry ingredients to liquid in sauce pan; bring to boil and cook until thick, stirring constantly
>2 egg yolks, beaten (save whites for merengue); add small amount of pie filling to egg yolks and mix well, then add it all back into pie filling
>Cook slowly another 2 minutes, stirring
>Remove from heat and stir in 1 Tbsp. butter; cool; pour into cooled baked pie shell
>Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form, adding in 1/4 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar while whipping; add to top of pie
>Put in 400-425 oven a few minutes, until nicely browned

I POSTED THE PICTURE BECAUSE IT IS HOW I REMEMBER MY DAD THE MOST. THIS IS WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE ALL THOSE WONDERFUL TIMES OF PICKING ME ON THE WEEKENDS AND TAKING ME PLACES THAT WERE ALWAYS COOL. I HAD SO MUCH FUN HANGING OUT WITH MY DAD. THIS PICTURE IS IN CALIFORNIA BECAUSE WE HAD CRICKET AND CLANCY. WHEN BONNIE CAME ALONG, WE HAD EVEN MORE FUN WHILE I WAS GROWING UP. TO THE BEST DAD AND STEP-MOM EVER!

PS...SORRY, DAD, FOR EVERYONE GIVING YOU A HARD TIME IN THIS PICTURE, BUT AFTER SEEING THE BEE GEES VIDEO, I HAVE TO SAY THAT I SEE A LOT OF RESEMEBLENCE. BUT THAT'S OK, BECAUSE THE BEE GEES WERE MY FAVORITE!
