Our house to date - before and after

So here you go Laura and Sarah...the house the day I bought it and how it looks now. The outside is still a work in progress, but so much better than the way it looked when I bought it.

Before pictures...

After pictures...

All the rock that was in the yard is gone and is now dirt. I need to finish grading the yard and prepare for some new rock. We are getting smaller rock instead of the larger rock that made it so hard to maintain before. The pictures really don't show you the huge difference there is.
We haven't really done anything to the inside yet, but are going to be starting on the master bath real soon. The three bedrooms shouldn't take much at all to do, then we are going to redo the kitchen. Before and after shown below...

You do really nice work, Clint. It looks like a completely different house. Do you and Liz do all of the work? I can't imagine the value you've added (and are adding)to it. Show us more when you can. - Laura

Thanks. Before I met Liz, I had the windows put in, most of the trim work on the outside completed, the bushes torn out, the concrete pad poured, the old sheds in the back yard torn out, the grass in the back yard brought back to life, the old aluminum sliding glass door removed and replaced with the french doors and the old stumps removed.

Liz helped me with painting the outside of the house and removing the old rock from the front and back yards (HUGE help!). We keep thinking how good the inside will look once we get it completed. Right now all the walls inside are white. Carpet is beige. The flooring in the kitchen and dining room is so nasty. Ceilings are popcorn. So...the major items are to remove the popcorn ceilings, paint the walls, and put in engineered hardwood flooring through the whole house ecept tile for the bathrooms. I will have owned the house 2 years this July, so maybe in two years I'll have the inside completed.

Clint and Liz - thanks for the pictures and commentary. Your hard work really shows. Your house looks cozy and inviting - good job! ~Nancy~

Looks real pretty. The house has curb appeal. Maybe you could get the kitchen done by one of those shows on HGTV. :) Anyone watch that channel? It's 57 if you have cable. I have a new convert to it. It's an awesome channel, minus a particular aspect. ~Kim

I know seeing everything come together will be really gratifying. Another two years will pass in a flash. It's great that you can get things just like you want it. - Laura

Kim,
I love HGTV. It's great for getting ideas. I think it's almost like a public service when it comes to decorating-to-sell ideas. - Laura

Clint and Liz -- very nice work! I love the back porch, especially the door. And the color choice for the outside was perfect. You guys have done an amazing job! I can't wait to see what you do to the inside! The kitchen spec looks great. I think redoing a kitchen is one of the most expensive and time consuming inside renovations, but it will pay off! Good luck!
