Getting Hit with a Slush Ball

Ashley hit me in the face with a slush ball at mom's house (Nancy's). I can't honestly say snow because, well, it's Texas snow - very wet. The other picture is of a slush man I built on mom's lawn furniture. He's about 3 inches tall. Hey, we have to take what we can get down here. - Laura

Cool pic for a hot day

This is the closest picture I have relating to snow. I took it Jan. or Feb. this year at the Springfield Nature Center. ~Kim

Snow in July????

Ashley and Muffin - 2003?

My house in March 2008 - believe it or not! The tree is full of white blossoms.

John and Laura's house - a few years ago.
Snow photo ops are rare in Texas, but I managed to find a few to post. It's been so crazy hot here that I am longing for cold weather, and the white stuff would be great.
If any of you have a favorite snow picture, please post it so we can at least dream about it!

My Colorado

I love the trees in Colorado
I just love this picture
I really like bridges, there were lots in the Rockies
Gorgeous views

A Scissortail, I think...

There is no snow in Texas, but there is still plenty here
Beautiful
We were fortunate enough to see a two moose

This is one of my favorite pictures
This is another
This is the background on my laptop, just so amazing
No words to express all the beauty I saw

One of the many lakes I saw and a glacier in the background I think
An elk running away from us, the first elk I've ever seen
River on the way to hike, another favorite
I love christmas trees, they smell so good
We were up so high, but it was worth it for the views

We saw an elk footprint leading down to the water on our hike
Just one of the many beautiful rivers

Durango to Silverton train ride

These are just a few pictures from my family vacation on June 20-29. These are just from Colorado, mostly from the Rockies. More to come later I hope. Enjoy :))
Love,
Allyson

Ralph Lewis finally figured out how to sign in!

Hi Y'all,

I've been working with computers since 1965 and I still have trouble with some web sites! Oh well!

When my sister Pat told me about this site, I had to stop and think how long it has been since the days when all of Grandpa and Grandma Morris' children and grandchildren were together in Madison. It had to have been about 1957. Long time, no see for so many of us.

For those who have come on the scene since then...

I am the son of Wilma Morris Lewis and Walter Lewis. I am the oldest child (someone had to do it!). Pat Anderson, Barbara Cooper and Carl Lewis round out the family.

I am currently living in Portland, OR. I say currently because it seems like I have trouble sticking anyplace. In 1957, the Lewises were living in Morgantown, WV. Since then we moved to Chapel Hill, NC, following Dad's death. When I graduated in 1965, I moved to the Washington, DC area. In the next 9 years I lived in DC, MD, and VA while working in the DC area. From there I went to San Diego for a year, Guam (1 yr), Silicon Valley (San Jose area) for 8 years, Phoenix (actually Chandler), AZ for 11 years, Placerville Ca for 11 years and now Portland.

I have two daughters from my first marriage to Pat (Pam) Moreland. Elizabeth has three daugters (Karin 16, Kristin 14, and Anna 8?). She lives in Lovettsville, VA with her husband Charles. Barbie lives in Iron Station, NC with her husband Dan.

I have two more daugters from a later marriage. Alana is 19 and has just finished her freshman year at UCSD. Suzanne will be a senior in HS in the Fall. She has just returned from six months in Italy as a foreign exchange student. Alana and Suzanne live in Placerville, CA with their Mom.

I am married to Judy Stabler - three years now. We are adjusting to life in the Pacific Northwest after so many years of living in the almost always sunny Southwest. The first winter was kind of tough - lots of overcast skies and rain. I took a position with Flir Systems here in October after working for them for 4 months as a contractor so I got the benefit of getting here in the summer. Judy moved here when the position became a permanent one. She got here Thanksgiving weekend - just in time for the onset of serious winter weather and one of the worst storm they have seen here in quite a few years. But now summer is with us and it is glorious - green and cooler than we were used to in CA.

I will try to add to this as time goes on. It is a shock to look at the pictures of the cousins I remember as being teenagers the last time we were together. With all the moving around, I think the only family gatherings I have been to have been Grandpa & Grandma's 50th wedding anniversary at the Derbers and then the Derber's 50th (1998?). Uncle Ralph and I were in the DC area for a few years and I did get to visit with him and his family off and on. Time flies!

Playin' Dress Up

Rachel and Kristin love to dress up, usually as princesses or as "big girls." And anytime Abby comes over, she takes charge of their style, dressing them up picture-perfect! Thought I'd share some of their lovely work!
