July 4 weekend - K.C.
Happy 4th to everyone! I spent a few days with Dad and Carolyn (Bob & Carolyn Morris) in Independence. We picked blueberries the 4th. It was fun. There were a lot of people out, and there were slim pickins, but we managed to pick 20# of blueberries between the three of us. Today, Saturday, we went to an exhibit of artifacts found aboard the Arabia, a steamboat that sank in 1856 in the Missouri River. The boat hit a snag, a large tree trunk, which caused it to partially sink. Over time, the boat's bottom was buried in mud and preserved until dug up in 1988. Attached is a pic of some of the artifacts. ~Kim
