New Morris addition

There is a new member to the Morris family - a precious four-legged black and white cat! :) I found him last week in my apartment courtyard and couldn't resist seeking him out every day since to see how he was doing. I'd bring him in for a few hours to cool off and give him some food (chicken - since I didn't have any official cat food on hand). I've decided to adopt him, for now anyway. We'll see how my allergies hold up. He has the sweetest disposition and a squeak for a meow. Gave him a bath, and he didn't put up much of a fuss. I can carry him around anywhere, and he just goes right along. He's a real trooper. :) I nicknamed him Bookends because of his coloring. Don't know if that'll stick, but it's all I can think of right now. Any suggestions? ~Kim

Oh, Kim, he's so cute! What unique markings. I hope you get to keep him and your allergies don't bother you. He's so sweet. I think you named him in the blog text and didn't even realize it: Trooper

He's beautiful! It sounds like you two are a good fit for each other. He probably thinks he has died and gone to cat heaven with his chicken dinners. We should all be so lucky : ). Trooper is a cute name. Keep us updated on what you find sticks. - Laura

Yes, he is sweet. The day I decided to keep him, when I got home and found him in the courtyard and brought him inside, I noticed he was limping. He still is. Nothing looks wrong with his paw. Poor boy walks most of the time on three legs. I hear cha-ching in my future. ~Kim

Kim, he looks adorable. His limp could be an old injury that did not heal correctly and so now he limps. You could take him for a "check-up" just to make sure. I like the name Trooper, too, but you may find something better after spending time with him. I thought of Oreo because of his coloring.

Maybe he's faking the limp to play the sympathy card until he's sure he has you : ). Just kidding. It's probably an old cat fight wound. He looks really healthy. - Laura

Oreo is extra fitting since the white is the middle just like the cookie. I recommended that name when Nancy got Muffy, but Muffy seemed to fit him better. Yes, Alberto suggested that his limp is fake to play on my sympathies. :) But Bookends/Trooper is too sweet to do that. :) ~Kim

He is adorable--and I like all the names. He does remind me of piano keys, middle C, so maybe "CC" for "cute cat" ---Mary

He is a cutie! Hope you are able to keep him. I like Trooper as well - perhaps you can get him together with Uncle Bill's cat "Sarge" and they can become friends! =) Much love,

Ashley

I actually thought about Sarge and how well Bookends/Trooper/Oreo would fit in. :) His personality is so like Sarge's. Bill, want another cat for the store? :) ~Kim

I showed Myron the pictures of Bookends, but Liz was also fixing dinner and Myron thought he was going to get a piece of chicken. So he didn't want to be held long.

Oreo was already taken, right Kim? Didn't Grace have a daughter named Oreo?

Yes, I named one of Grace's kittens Oreo before we gave it away. Don't know if it was a boy or girl, though. Bookends is kinda cute for a nickname, but still can't figure out a "real" name. I call him Book for short sometimes.
