Pretty Lake, Wisconsin ~ 1984
Here's a photo of a photo sent in by Mary Rogalski. This is from 1984 when the Briley Girls and Mary Ann went to Pretty Lake, Wisconsin. left to right: Sarah, Nancy, Laura, Ashley, Jennifer (the Brileys), Joe, Mary, and Mike (Rogalskis) - front row: Geneva and Arnold Montgomery, Mary Ann Morris
Thanks, Nancy, for including this picture. I have such fun/fond memories of your trip to Mom and Dad's with your girls and your mom!! I'll try to add pictures from our trip to Wisconsin Dells that week.
I remember that trip so well. I was only 5, but I remember playing cards, laughing a lot (I remember Mike and Joe being really funny), and swimming in the lake. Lots of summer fun. - Laura
I remember that trip very well! I was just shy of being 14 yrs old. I thought Wisconsin was beautiful. It looked like pictures from a book -- red barns, rolling hills, black and white cows. Aunt Geneva was amazing. Her house had so many books, magazines and papers and most of it was all about our MacFarlane heritage. I wanted to know all the stories! Then there was her basement. I had never been in a house with a basement, and it was a little spooky. But playing cards with Mike and Joe and my sisters made it a little better. The lake was within walking distance, so we went down there to swim and to row around in a canoe. I remember specifically being in the canoe with Mike, Joe and Jenny, and having a serious conversation about how to pronounce "root" in root beer. Mike and Joe were convinced that these girls from Texas did not know how to talk right! Anyway, lots of good memories. Thanks for posting the picture! --Sarah
