FAMILY RECIPE
LEMON PIE
(Ruth Sanford)
>Mix together:
1/4 c. sugar
4 rounded Tbsp. flour
>Mix together:
1 3/4 c. water
Juice and grated rind of 2 lemons
>Gradually add dry ingredients to liquid in sauce pan; bring to boil and cook until thick, stirring constantly
>2 egg yolks, beaten (save whites for merengue); add small amount of pie filling to egg yolks and mix well, then add it all back into pie filling
>Cook slowly another 2 minutes, stirring
>Remove from heat and stir in 1 Tbsp. butter; cool; pour into cooled baked pie shell
>Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form, adding in 1/4 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar while whipping; add to top of pie
>Put in 400-425 oven a few minutes, until nicely browned

I love these pictures, Mom. I don't think I've ever seen these. Did Grandma send you some new ones? - Laura
These are some that Bob sent me that he scanned. I'm not sure where he got them; maybe he can enlighten us, or if someone else knows. No, I'm not in contact with Ken Jr. but Mom has been. I've got his address and phone number, though. He's actually married to a Katherine, but she goes by Kathy... so another Kay and Ken! They live in Madison.

I always thought the actor James Woods looked familiar,and now seeing Leonard's picture, I know where I got that thought.--I remember going to Hillsboro (probably in grade school) and Uncle Leonard suggesting to Mom that I be on vitamins--they were called ABDEC and when I think about it, I can still smell them, not a very pleasant smell :), but Aunt Ruth and Uncle Leonard were very nice and their son, cousin Dick was very fun and funny, a few years older than my sister and me.
